After the Rains

Painted onsite, en plein air, all prima. This little gem was a joy to paint. One of those breezy, cool spring mornings so precious in the desert, with wind-torn clouds moving fast behind the mountains, and the hillsides covered in early California poppies. I think my exuberance at the weather shows in the piece; I had a great time painting this one, just at sun-up. Small but mighty.
